Huron Valley Tennis Club is pleased to announce the resumption of private and semi-private (up to 4 players) lessons on the outdoor courts on Friday, June 12, 2020.
To schedule a lesson, please contact your pro by personal phone, email, or text. If you do not work with a specific pro but would like some instruction, please email the Club at hvtc8@sbcglobal.net and we will arrange instruction for you. We do not have a receptionist on duty at this time, so do not call the club.
Our summer private lesson rates are $66/hr. for a Senior Pro, and $55/hr. for a Junior Pro. Member’s accounts will be billed for instruction and non-members will be asked to submit credit card information over the phone. Pros will not accept any payments. We hope that on June 13, Governor Whitmer will allow tennis clubs to open their indoor facilities. Until we are given that permission, the indoor portion of the club will remain closed and no amenities (bathrooms, water, towels, etc.) will be available. We will have hand sanitizer available on each bank of courts. If a lesson is rained out, we will issue you a partial or full refund, depending upon how much of the lesson was conducted.
Our instructors will have been trained in the proper procedures for teaching non-contact, socially distanced lessons. Students will be instructed not to touch tennis balls and keep at least six feet between themselves and others. Initially, this format will seem very awkward, but it has been designed with the health and safety of student and staff in mind. We appreciate your cooperation.
Our instructors will complete a COVID-19 screening each day before they report to work.
Students should cancel their lessons if they have COVID-19 symptoms or believe that they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Late cancellations are permitted. In these changing times, we are doing our best to provide a safe environment and an opportunity to do what we all love- play tennis! Please use the email address above to provide feedback or suggestions. Thank you for your patience. It will be good to see you again. It is time to get that swing back in the groove!

USTA Leagues
Unfortunately, HVTC will not sponsor any USTA leagues this summer. We know that this will be disappointing to many of you, especially since some clubs are not taking such a conservative approach. Our management team believes that league play needs to wait until we are much further along with our phased-in operations. Until then, our outdoor courts are available to our members and we hope to start private lesson instruction soon. Continue to monitor this website (huronvalleytennisclub.net) or our Facebook page for updates.

Playing Tennis Safely
Here is the official guidance from USTA on playing tennis safely in our current COVID-19 situation.
HVTC Phase 1 Re-Opening
Huron Valley Tennis Club is Re-opening on Tuesday, May 12.
Phase 1 of 3
HVTC is pleased to announce we are beginning to re-open the club. Phase 1 is going to require some thoughtful planning by our tennis enthusiasts as the 10 outdoor courts will be opening, but the club will remain locked and inaccessible. There will be no access to bathrooms, water, changing facilities, etc..
You would be well advised to bring any and all necessities like, water, towels, mask, gloves, hand sanitizer, balls, etc. to the court when you play. We also recommend you play with family members or low risk opponents. When playing avoid using your hands to pick up balls. Use your feet or racket to pick up balls and direct them to your opponent. We will post safe tennis procedures and there are some wonderful suggestions on the USTA website. I would encourage you to read these before you come out to play. Try and keep a court vacant between you and your neighbor and continue to practice social distancing. Try and avoid social congregation before and after play.
The courts are available to our members only, and there will be no court reservations. Please limit your play to one hour if others are waiting and leave immediately following play. We are confident Phase 2 is not far behind and in that phase we will be re-opening the building and the 7 indoor courts. The health and welfare of our staff and membership remains our to priority and we are quickly moving toward obtaining the materials necessary to keep everyone
safe and re-opening soon.
Thank you,
Mike Ware
