Players from the Competitive Training classes are invited to the

Competitive Training Singles Camp
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3:00-4:30pm
Daily fee: $28

Our objective is to provide a great workout with excellent competition and instruction within the framework of a safe tennis environment. Our safety protocol is based on outdoor play, player spacing, ball management, and sanitation breaks.

At this time, we have not been given the go-ahead to open the indoor facility, so amenities such as restrooms and water fountains may not be available. Come prepared for outdoor play with water, hat, mask, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. We ask that players and parents practice social distancing and leave promptly following the class, as we have a new group arriving. All participants should bring a mask but are not expected to play with one on.

Space is limited to 16 players per camp. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and HVTC members have priority over non-members. Those on the wait list will be invited to fill in for declared absences and cancellations. Late cancellations (the morning of the camp) and no-shows will be billed. There are no walk-ins! Call 734-662-5514 to register.

These groups are to be held outdoors and therefore are subject to weather cancellation. HVTC accounts will be billed at the end of each one-week session. Rain-shortened meetings will be prorated.

Please do not attend if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough, chills, sore throat, etc). Report any confirmed or suspected cases to HVTC immediately.

Session Dates:
Session 1 – Aug. 3, 5, 7
Session 2 – Aug. 10, 12, 14
Session 3 – Aug. 17, 19, 21
Session 4 – Aug. 24, 26, 28

Reservations starting up June 12th

HVTC Members

As of Friday, June 12 we will resume taking reservations for the outdoor court play and private lessons. We will have reception staff manning the phone from 10am-3pm daily to reserve courts, book lessons and answer questions. The indoor facility remains closed. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this unique time! Feel free to email us at HVTC8@sbcglobal.net with questions.

Thank you,

Resumption of Outdoor Lessons

Huron Valley Tennis Club is pleased to announce the resumption of private and semi-private (up to 4 players) lessons on the outdoor courts on Friday, June 12, 2020.

To schedule a lesson, please contact your pro by personal phone, email, or text. If you do not work with a specific pro but would like some instruction, please email the Club at hvtc8@sbcglobal.net and we will arrange instruction for you. We do not have a receptionist on duty at this time, so do not call the club.

Our summer private lesson rates are $66/hr. for a Senior Pro, and $55/hr. for a Junior Pro. Member’s accounts will be billed for instruction and non-members will be asked to submit credit card information over the phone. Pros will not accept any payments. We hope that on June 13, Governor Whitmer will allow tennis clubs to open their indoor facilities. Until we are given that permission, the indoor portion of the club will remain closed and no amenities (bathrooms, water, towels, etc.) will be available. We will have hand sanitizer available on each bank of courts. If a lesson is rained out, we will issue you a partial or full refund, depending upon how much of the lesson was conducted.

Our instructors will have been trained in the proper procedures for teaching non-contact, socially distanced lessons. Students will be instructed not to touch tennis balls and keep at least six feet between themselves and others. Initially, this format will seem very awkward, but it has been designed with the health and safety of student and staff in mind. We appreciate your cooperation.

Our instructors will complete a COVID-19 screening each day before they report to work.
Students should cancel their lessons if they have COVID-19 symptoms or believe that they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Late cancellations are permitted. In these changing times, we are doing our best to provide a safe environment and an opportunity to do what we all love- play tennis! Please use the email address above to provide feedback or suggestions. Thank you for your patience. It will be good to see you again. It is time to get that swing back in the groove!

USTA Leagues

Unfortunately, HVTC will not sponsor any USTA leagues this summer. We know that this will be disappointing to many of you, especially since some clubs are not taking such a conservative approach. Our management team believes that league play needs to wait until we are much further along with our phased-in operations. Until then, our outdoor courts are available to our members and we hope to start private lesson instruction soon. Continue to monitor this website (huronvalleytennisclub.net) or our Facebook page for updates.
