The intraclub leagues start September 8 with the men’s Sunday night doubles at 7pm. The Tuesday men’s doubles league starts September 10 at 8:30pm. The Thursday men’s singles league starts September 12 at 9pm. Substitute players are needed each week for members who are absent. Call the club the day of each league. Your name will be added to the list and the captain will call you if you are needed that evening. The list is created each week to ensure the availability of those applying as subs.

Congratulations to the Rolling Thunder, the first HVTC 12U team to go to the Sectional Championships in Indianapolis in a long time! They competed very hard despite the heat, had great sportsmanship all around, and made the coaches and parents proud. They placed 5th out of 10 teams. Here’s to many more years of making the trip! Homeland Solar has installed 427 panels on the southwest side of the club’s roof. The solar energy from the panels is expected to meet two-thirds of our annual electricity needs and significantly reduce our carbon footprint. We feel strongly that our solar investment is consistent with who HVTC is—a good neighbor and steward of our environment.

Instructors work with adult players to improve their strokes and competitive play. The league meets on Saturdays 11am-12:30pm starting June 22; sign up each week. Cost is $16 for members, $19 for nonmembers.

Starting June 17, play is outdoors on Monday and Friday noon-2pm. This league offers great exercise, challenging doubles, and good camaraderie for men 55 and over. Partners are rotated at regular intervals during the two hours of play, ensuring participants a variety of partners and opponents. Register on a week-to-week basis. Outdoor play is free; participants share an $18 per hour court fee if play is moved indoors due to weather.
